Duties and Responsibilities
- • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of school buildings and equipment. Perform minor repairs to plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- • Cleaning Tasks: Ensure that classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas are clean and hygienic. This includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, and garbage removal.
- • Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas such as lawns, playgrounds, and parking lots. Tasks include mowing, raking, snow removal, and general landscaping.
- • Safety Checks: Monitor and report any safety hazards. Ensure that fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency exits meet safety standards.
- • Equipment Management: Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Ensure tools are properly maintained and stored.
- • Assistance with Events: Set up and take down equipment and furniture for school events, meetings, and assemblies.
- • Support School Admin: Assist teachers and staff with any maintenance requests and provide support during emergencies.
Required Skills
- • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify maintenance issues and find effective solutions.
- • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and operating machinery.
- • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing maintenance tasks and inspections.
- • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to report issues and collaborate with school staff.
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent./li>
- • Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- • Ability to pass a background check.
- • Valid driver’s license may be required.
