Since 1885, Augustinian Academy has been known for its strong traditions in academic excellence and Catholic family values. Founded in the traditions of the Sisters of St. Joseph, the faculty and staff are dedicated to educating and developing the whole child, academically, physically, and spiritually. We provide an excellent education based on gospel values as well as on New York State Standards. We do all of this by providing a caring, loving, family-friendly environment. We offer classes for grades Kindergarten through Eight, as well as Pre-Kindergarten classes for 3 year olds and 4 year olds.

Social Studies

Augustinian Academy educates children with a goal of excellence in all areas. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg curriculum guidelines, consistent with the New York State Next Generation Standards are perfectly aligned to meet and exceed New York State standards, assuring a premier academic experience for your child. We offer small classes for more individualized attention and focus on the academic and spiritual development of the whole child. Students who excel in their core curriculum areas are given the opportunity to challenge themselves with advanced programs including High-School level Math and Science in our full size science lab for our 8th graders. Additionally we also offer reading and math support for students who qualify through Title 1 Federal funds, after school tutoring and weekly library time in the school library. French is taught in 7th and 8th grade and these students are eligible to earn a high school foreign language credit.

Technology

Augustinian has a growing technology program. Students attend Computer Class once per week and have 1:1 chromebook devices in their classroom. Technology is integrated into the curriculum as a tool to express creativity, problem solve, access quality research and information and expand educational capabilitiies In technology classes students are taught to explore, research, design, create, teach, and be good digital citizens! In 2024, all students in K-8 will meet the NYS Computer Science and digital fluency standards.

Physical Education

Augustinian Students attend PE class twice a week. They participate in a wide variety of sports and are taught the importance of health and fitness in their every day lives.

Religion

The religious education program at Augustinian Academy is designed to meet the needs of each individual student in a Christ centered environment. Growth in faith, involvement in bi-monthly liturgy, service to others, daily prayer, pastor visits, and preparation for sacraments are important parts of our academics. Daily school life is centered around the Catholic Faith and Values. Each day the teachings of Jesus; love, respect, service to others, kindness and compassion are reinforced in our students. Students of all faiths are more than welcome at our school!
